Playdate

Lexi's best friend is moving away at the end of the school year.  We are quite sad about it, but we are trying to get as much time with her as possible before she leaves.  So, we had her over for a playdate.

Look at these adorable girls!  I love their natural happiness.  May they never lose it!
At one point, the girls asked me to get down the markers (which are kept up high, lest the little brother get them).  In the approximately thirty seconds it took me to go get the markers, Jayvan dumped dirt all over the deck.  Isn't this the way all kids use their pink baby strollers?
I just bought that cooler earlier this morning and I could just hear Jayvan thinking, "This thing is  not dirty enough to be a part of this household.  I want to make it feel at home."  Thanks, son.

Another Soccer Season Bites the Dust

I feel like the soccer season just started, but now it's over once again.  I think Jayvan will miss the big soccer ball most of all.

We got to catch one of Zac's games too.  The boys definitely have a little more fire.

Aunt Ashley Graduates

My baby sister graduated with her Associates degree and we went out to support her.  I'm so proud of her for all of her hard work.  This Fall she continues her education to become an elementary teacher.

The graduation was quite long, so we ended up skating out a little earlier.  This little guy was happy to be out of the crowded bleachers.  God bless the people around us for being patient with our little wiggle worm.

Bridging to Brownies

I'm so proud of Lexi's little Daisy troop.  That are such sweet girls who are passionate about being girl scouts.

We did our bridging ceremony at the leader's house.  She has a gorgeous backyard with plenty of space for the girls to run off their energy.

 The girls made s'mores.  Yum!

I look forward to next year as I take over the troop. It should be a lot of fun.

Sprinklers

I feel like an unofficial start to Summer is the first time we pull out the Sprinklers. The weather has been so variable lately, but when we had a night warm enough for the sprinkler, we took advantage of it.

The kids ended up watering my garden in the end.  Yay for multi-tasking.

Daisy Cupcake Party

We wanted to do a fun activity with the girls for the end of the year.  So, we organized a cupcake decorating party at SmallCakes.  The girls had a blast.

Lexi even brought home a cupcake for her brother, which he appreciated.

Happy Mother's Day.

Mother's Day was our last morning in Casper.  I woke up to cards and starbucks on my nighstand.

This handsome little dude also slept in a bit, which is another gift to me.

We got packed up and had breakfast with the in-laws at the hotel.

Then we started the four-hour drive back to Denver.  While Wyoming is beautiful, I will admit that it's not the most exciting drive.  At one point we saw a sign that said, "No gas for 65 miles."  It wasn't  a joke.

An added bonus to this mother's day was that we were able to meet up with one of my online mama friends at a Starbucks in Firestone, CO.  It was so great to finally get to hug her and meet her awesome family.

By the time we got back to KC, we were hungry and didn't want to cook when we got home.  So, we stopped at Cracker Barrel.  We don't eat there very often, but it feels like one of those places that I am supposed to go to when I'm traveling.
I even splurged and had a (very sweet) blackberry cobbler.  Jayvan was a fan

Matt and the kids also gave me a hammock for Mother's Day which I absolutely love.  It has been used almost every night.  Lexi also made a book of all the reasons she loves me.  I'm one blessed mama!
