Vacation - Day 1

We set off for nine days in Virginia.  I would say that one bad flight was worth all of the fun we would have.

When we landed in Norfolk, I felt a rush of emotions as I remembered that this was the place where my children met each other.  This is the place where I was first able to hold them both in my arms at the same time.  I will forever love the Norfolk airport and they had the perfect art installation for my emotions.

Lexi thought the L was perfect for her.

After we got our luggage, we got our rental car.  Lexi was very excited about having a minivan.

We went to our condo and got settled in and then hit the beach.
 Jayvan wasn't so sure.

And then Lexi's clothes got wet and wet. It was just like two years ago all over again.

Royals Game

We got together with the family to go to the Royals game.  We got outfield seats.  It was a great night of baseball, hot dogs. family, and fireworks.

Arboretum Photo Shoot

I took the kids out to the arboretum to try to get some good pictures before we went on vacation.  Jayvan was not up for smiling at the camera.  Lexi was happy to smile and pose for the camera.

Summer Break Out

Lexi and Aiden went to our church's version of vacation Bible school called Summer Break Out (SBO).  It was an amazing week filled with lots of fun, friends, and Jesus.

I helped out by volunteering at the outside sites which included a zipline, big waterslide, obstacle course, large pulley, and water obstacle course.  It was awesome.

The week was capped off with a carnival and a concert. It was so sweet to hear these kids singing the songs they learned all week.
 Jayvan was not at amused.
The kids brought in money to help fight world hunger and because they brought in over $5000, our missions pastor let his wife shave his head into a mohawk.

The Wedding

The big day has arrived.  It is hard for me to think about my "baby" sister becoming a bride, but she is the exact same age that I was when I got married.  Time continues to fly.

We started the morning the breakfast and hair & makeup at our house.

I had Ashley come pose in front of my favorite trees.
Then we decided to do the big reveal at Middle Creek Lake where we grew up.  This was when Ashley caught the first glimpse of Kyle waiting out on the dock.  You can just feel the love.
 Then the big reveal!

We decided to stop and take a picture in front of our old house too. We may have set off some alarms. . .
Then we all met at the community center for the professional pictures.

There are many more pictures to share, but I will have to upload them later.  The wedding was wonderful and we are blessed with a new brother in the family.
