Conversation with Jayvan

Earlier in a store, I started singing along to a song.
Jayvan: You know this song?
Me: Sure. This was my jam back in the day.
Jayvan: Who sings it?
Me: Mariah Carey.
Jay: Do you know her?
Me: I know OF her.
Jay: Is she your friend?
Me: No. She's a famous singer.
Jay: So she's at your office? You adjust her?
Me: No honey. I've never met her.
Jay: Oh, you could have just said that.
Store Employee: You've got an inquisitive boy there.

Powell Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch.

 Jayvan's favorite place was the sandbox of course.

Boo On Broadway

Each year, my hometown closes down the main street in town, and the businesses hand out candy to happy kids. It's always a great time.

Our Goalie

Lexi has played soccer since she was four-years-old. She has gone from dancing on the field to being a tough little goalie. Very few goals have gotten past her and in several games no balls got past her at all. I'm so proud of her.

Volleyball

I took on a new role this Fall: Volleyball coach. It was such a blast seeing these girls develop their skills and really come together as a team. I'm looking forward to the Spring season already.

Getting Lost In the Woods

We love the Arboretum and frequently go out to let the kids play in the Children's Garden.

 We don't often go off the paved  paths and hike in the woods, but we decided to do that today. Mom and Lexi went one way and Jayvan and I went another. This was a mistake. Mom and Lexi got lost in the woods, but thankfully they found their way back before the sun went completely down.

Fire Training Facility Open House

The Fire Training Facility had an open house and we knew we had to take Jayvan. Both of the kids had a blast.
