Spirit Assembly

I made it to Lexi's school spirit assembly to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week.  It was great to see how enthusiastic all of these kids and teachers are about this school.

Insanity

Matt and I are indeed insane.  We have been doing the Insanity workout, and it is not just a clever name.  My favorite thing about it all is when Jayvan says little things like, "C'mon Mom! Get up!"  You get up, kid!

Ashley's Bridal Shower

Baby Liam

My cousin had her second boy and we went to the hospital to admire him.  Lexi made cards for the baby and the big brother.  

Liam is a wonderful addition to our crazy family.  I am so happy for their little family of four.

2013 Garden

We had a day of warm weather in between rain and snow, so I decided to plant the garden.  I took the kids out to Suburban Lawn & Garden to get all of the plants and seeds.  The kids both wanted to help. One was a better helper than the other.  I'm sure you can guess which child that was.

This kid loves some dirt.

 Lexi planted Alyssum seeds in the deck planters.

 The garden has strawberries, one artichoke plant, pumpkins, cantaloupe, watermelon, peppers, zucchini, carrots, round carrots, kale, spinach, tomatoes, and cilantro.

 My best helper.  Notice that she has dirt on her face too.

 Dirty Gardening feet:

 We planted some wheatgrass in this pot.  I have a bunch of herbs in pots in the kitchen.

Lexi's ABC Book

My sister, Ashley, is going to college for elementary education.  One of her assignments was to make an original ABC book. We were all stuck at home on a snow day, so she decided to get Lexi involved in the creative process.  I absolutely love the book.  I know I'm biased, but I doubt you'll disagree.

Ashley aspires to write children's books one day, and I think she will be an amazing author.

Oceans of Fun

Not the water park, the 1st grade musical!

The kids did an amazing job.  Lexi had a speaking line and she was so excited about it.  I'm such a sappy mom.  I tear up at just about everything and that includes school musicals.

 After the musical, we went to the book fair.  Lexi scored some roses from us and some new books from Nana.  Thanks to all of the family members who made it out for the big event!
