Baby Playgroup at Little Monkey Bizness

Jayvan and I met up with some friends at Little Monkey Bizness.  We all used the same agency to adopt our gorgeous babies.

Dog Sitting

We watched this little guy for Aunt Sarah.

 Lexi was a big fan.
Jayvan was more interested in his toys.
Roxi loved having him around as a new toy.
Lexi had a hard time wanting to give him back.

Wonderscope with Cousins

We bought a groupon to Wonderscope that expired at the end of June, so we made a plan with Jessie and Aiden to go on Tuesday.  Summer (Aiden's cousin on the other side of the family) came too.  The kids all had a blast.  Lexi couldn't pick a favorite room, but I would say that the water room was definitely Jayvan's favorite.

Happy Father's Day

When I met Matt over twelve years ago, I thought that I never wanted children.  As we became more serious he told me that was a deal-breaker for him.  I prayed and prayed about it and realized that he would be the kind of husband and father that would change all of my preconceived notions.

He's amazing.  He's loving, playfu,l and patient.  He is the perfect daddy to our children, and watching him with them makes me love him more everyday.

To celebrate this day, we bought Daddy his favorite breakfast.

This card has Jayvan's handprint and Lexi's handprint.  We also made this frame from some old keyboards.  It will be perfect for Daddy's new desk at his new job.

Haircuts

I finally made the decision to cut Jayvan's hair.  I didn't want to lose the curls by any means, but the back of his hair had turned into a ratty mullet that needed to be calmed.  Lexi also decided that she was ready for short hair.  So we made some appointments at Shear Madness.  It was the first time at a salon for both of them.  I've always just trimmed Lexi's hair at home.

Here are the before shots:
See how long it was in the back?  Craziness.
Lexi's hair had just come down out of a ponytail.

Here are some "action" shots:
Let's be honest.  Jayvan didn't love it.
His results were worth it though.  His head is still perfectly covered in curls.

Lexi was mostly just annoyed when the hairdresser stepped in front of the TV.  She was watching Cars.
She ended up with an adorable little bob.  She loves it!

Fun-Filled Tuesday

Tuesdays are my days off from work.  As a chiropractor, I can set my own schedule and I find that having a day off during the week really helps me feel balanced.  It gives me a day to have fun with my kiddos and catch up on errands.  On this particular Tuesday, it was all about fun.

We started out by heading to Crown Center.  I was going to let the kids play in the fountains, but we found out just before we were leaving that the fountains are now closed.  So we went to the dinosaur exhibit instead.

After the dinosaur exhibit, we had lunch at Fritz's.  Jayvan was mesmerized by the trains.

We met up with Lexi's girl scout troop for their aquarium field trip.  It was lots of fun.

Since we were downtown, we decided to stop by Daddy's office.  He'll only be there for about another week, because he is starting a new job on the 25th.  All of the ladies (and some of the men) left their offices and cubicles to come admire our handsome little dude.
After that, I took the kids to The Legends to waste a little time (and money) before the T-Bones game started.  Lexi pushed Jayvan along the yellow brick road.
I attempted to get a picture of them in front of the fountain.  You can see how well that turned out.
Then we headed over to the T-Bones game.  We had eight free tickets from our "bank" (Community America Credit Union).
It was a fun-filled day and I was ready to crash as soon as we got home.
