Wedding Day!

It was the big day for Papa Bo and Sandie.  We woke up and had breakfast together at the hotel and then got all dressed up to head to the church.

Most of the wedding party consisted of children (grandchildren and great nieces and nephews).  Jayvan was not particularly crazy about standing still for pictures, but hopefully the photographer got a few with him in them.

Here are Papa Bo & Sandie with Sherbo's siblings.  That was another bonus of the trip.  Jayvan got to meet his great aunts and uncle for the first time.

 Papa Bo with his grandkids:

I didn't get any photos of the actual ceremony, because I was wrangling a toddler, but it went wonderfully.  After the ceremony, there was a cake reception in the basement of the church.  You can just feel the love in this picture.

Between the wedding and the dinner, we decided to go take some pictures in front of mountains.

The dinner was at Olive Garden and it was delicious.  Congratulations to the bride and groom!
The kiddos now have two new step-cousins.

C'Mon Inn & Rehearsal

We stayed at a hotel called C'Mon Inn in Casper.  While the name is a bit cheesy, the hotel was actually very nice.  The kids got to feed the Koi and swim to their hearts content.

Jayvan was particularly fond of this water fountain that wasn't calibrated correctly.  Luckily, there was a drain on the floor near the fountain.

We all got ready and went to the rehearsal at Sandie's church.  I don't have any pictures of the actual rehearsal, because Jayvan was sooo over it.  As it turns out, he needed a nap.
Sandie's brother hosted the rehearsal dinner and it house was conveniently located right across the street from a great park.  The food was great, the company was wonderful, and the park was perfect.

Leaving On A Jet Plane

But, I know when we'll be back again. Sunday.

Papa Boy and Sandie are getting married in Casper, Wyoming.  We flew out to Denver and rented a car to drive to Casper.  I was a little nervous about Jayvan on the plane, but he surprised me by being a  great traveler (other than the descent into Denver). I already knew that Lexi was a great traveler.

The kids got to ride a bus, train, plane, and car all in one day.  I'm proud of my little travelers.

Amigo Day & Teacher Appreciation

Lexi's school had a Mexican Fiesta known as Amigo Day.  It took a lot of work on the part of some dedicated parents, and the event was a blast for all of the kids.

It also happened to fall during teacher appreciation week.  The theme this year was Dr. Seuss.  Here's the Lexi-fish on her classroom door.

Lexi's teacher is so wonderful and we will miss her next year, but I'm sure Lexi's second grade teacher will be just as fabulous.

Soccer

Lexi's soccer season is just flying by, but she's had a great time.  After this game, she has two left.

The award for the fan with the biggest hair goes to Jayvan.  No doubt about it.  He likes to yell, "Go Yissy (Sissy)!"

Free Comic Book Day

May 4th was free comic book day.  Typically Matt has just taken Lexi, but we decided to head out to Matt's favorite Comic Book Store (Elite Comics) as a family.  The line was out the door, but the kids had fun looking at the different super hero paraphernalia while we waited.

They even got to post with some superheros (and super villians).

Little things I don't want to forget. . .

On Tuesday, Lexi had a dentist appointment and then we went to a local park.  It has two playgrounds on either side of a lake and we planned to play on one playground, put our feet in the water for a bit and hit the other playground.  While we were out of the dock, I was holding Jayvan and noticed a particularly bad smell.  The smell was not contained to his diaper. It had seeped through his clothes and onto mine.  I told Lexi we had to head home and she was disappointed.  When we got home she said, "Mom, I'm really sorry you have poop on your clothes. That's too bad."   You've got to love the sympathy over a poop-xplosion.

When Jayvan sees a bus he just starts singing, "Round and Round. . . Round and Round. . . Round and Round."

Jayvan moved up to the two-year-old room and his old teacher wrote the sweetest card to him.  She said she will miss him so much and always have love in her heart for him.  She said she knows that he will be an amazing boy no matter where he is.  It made me cry.  It's always nice validation to know that other people think your kids are as amazing as you know they are.

On that note, I told Lexi's teacher that she had to leave early for her dentist appointment and that she would probably miss the reading incentive party, but Lexi understood.  The teacher said that Lexi is always so kind and understanding and she moved the party up in the day so Lexi could participate.

I'm so proud of my kids. They may still throw the occasional fit and make messes, but at their hearts are so beautiful.  They love people and know how to show it.  I couldn't be more blessed with these kids.
